Getting Started

Private beta

Welcome to Therabot, Thomas Bryant.

Two ways to use it. Both take 3–5 minutes per calf and per quad. Always start at a low pressure and work up.

How to use it

Before training

Prehab — the most value

Try this before your first training session. Runners we've worked with cut their times by around 10% and held a lower average heart rate doing exactly this — legs warm and loose before the work starts.

With the season coming, it's the highest-value way you can use it. Tell me whether you feel it on the court.

After training

Recharge — after a session

Home, wrecked, and still have dinner to cook or kids to deal with? Quick session on the legs.

It recharges them enough that you get up and move around and nearly forget how beat up you were.

1. Watch: the baseline scan

Do this once. Therabot maps your leg — ankle, calf peak, knee, thigh — and reuses it forever. You tap once to set how high it goes. Ninety seconds.

The full baseline scan in real time — one tap to set the top point, everything else automatic.

2. Watch: how to position yourself

Your only job is to relax. Prop the leg so nothing is holding itself up — that's the whole technique.

Edge of the seat, pillow propping, and target lock — the whole routine.

Your first session

  1. Get the app

Install the Therabot app from the TestFlight invite in your email and create your account. The bot arrives fully charged.

  2. Get comfortable first

Sit on the edge of a couch. Doing the calf? Prop the thigh on a pillow so the calf hangs loose. Doing the quad? Prop the calf instead.

  3. Put it on the leg

Open it, place it around the lower leg just above the ankle, close it. It should sit there without you holding it.

  4. Run the scan (once)

Tap Scan in the app. It travels up and stops where you tell it — usually just above the knee. Saved to your account.

  5. Pick a mode, start low, relax

Start at pressure 3 or 4 and work up. 3–5 minutes per calf, 3–5 per quad. The softer you stay, the deeper it works.

The five modes

Universal — roll daily

The everyday mode. Pick the stretch of leg, it rolls between those points.

Airplane — heavy legs

Stronger one way, lighter coming back. For the flat, swollen, post-flight feeling.

Myofascial — deep fascia

Slower, more deliberate. Time under pressure rather than speed.

Trigger — hold a knot

Parks on one spot and holds steady pressure there.

Pulse — squeeze and release

A repeating squeeze-and-release rhythm wherever you put it. Often easier than a static hold.

Before your first session

  • Legs only. Not the neck, head, torso, or feet.
  • Start at 3 or 4 and work up from there.
  • Stop it any time from the app or the button on the bot.
  • Skip anything acute. Injury or flare-up — ask your medical staff first.
  • It's a beta unit. Anything weird is useful data. Text me.
