Careers at Therabot

Build the company, not just the product.

Therabot makes a robot that massages your legs. We ship our first production units this year, and we are building the company behind it deliberately — small, senior, and running on systems rather than headcount.

That means the roles we open are unusually broad and unusually autonomous. If you want to own something end to end instead of holding one corner of it, you will like it here.

How we think about work

Most work falls into three layers. Doing it. Reviewing it. Deciding on it.

Our view is that the first layer is increasingly machine work — and that the people here should be spending their time on the second and third. It is a genuinely different way to build a company, and it shapes every role on this page.

1

Doing

Pulling the numbers, drafting the reply, reconciling the transactions, assembling the report. Repetitive execution. We automate this wherever we credibly can.

2

Reviewing

Checking that the systems are running, that the output is right, and that nothing is quietly stuck waiting on a person. Minutes a day, not hours.

3

Deciding

The calls that genuinely need human judgment — and getting them in front of the right person already framed, so the decision is the only work left.

The best people here spend almost all of their time on layers two and three. Everything we build is aimed at making that possible.

AI Automation Engineer

Build and run the AI systems that operate the business — accounting, support, marketing ops, reporting, inventory. You will be handed outcomes, not specs, and asked to build systems that produce them without a human in the loop.

Requires: you are already building on OpenClaw or Hermes today.

Do not see your role?

We open roles as we need them, but we will always make time for someone exceptional. If you think you should be working here and there is nothing listed that fits, email support@therabot.com with "Careers" in the subject line, and tell us what you would come here to build.

What we hire on

We do not weight degrees, job titles, or the length of a résumé very heavily. Some of the strongest people for the work we do are not engineers by title at all — they are operations people, ex-freelancers, ex-solo-founders, and the person at their last company who built the internal tools nobody asked for and everybody ended up depending on.

  • What you have actually built — specifically, something another person relied on, and what happened the first time it broke.
  • Whether you improve things unprompted — the version two nobody asked you for is the strongest signal we know of.
  • How you handle undefined work — most of what we need done has no spec, and will not have one.
  • Judgment over throughput — we would rather have one person making good calls than three people producing volume.

How hiring works here

  • A short written application. It starts with how you work and how you think, and ends by asking you to show what you have actually built. No cover letter required.
  • A real problem. If it is a fit, we send you something close to the actual work and ask how you would approach it.
  • A conversation with Aaron, the founder. Direct and technical. No panel.
  • A small paid project. Real work, real scope, so we both find out what working together is like before either of us commits.

We read every application, and we reply either way.

Therabot is an equal opportunity employer. We consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
